This program was developed by Members in Southern Ontario to address the increased need to provide education for Front Line Workers in Healthcare Facilities. The course addresses all aspects of the healthcare cleaning profession, in particular, the importance of proper techniques and practices to reduce the risk of infection. The course includes recommendations by the Provincial Infection Control Advisory Committee (PIDAC) pertaining to the Best Practice Cleaning Document for Environmental Cleaning. Upon completion, Students will have a clear understanding of the importance of their role in the Healthcare Housekeeping work environment. Registration for this course is open enrollment. The course is completed through correspondence and each student is assigned a preceptor/coach. There are eight assignments and a final exam and the course must be completed within six months from start date. Students receive a Certification of completion after achieving a final grade of 80%.
